Army Goodwill School(AGS), Bogdang was started to provide quality primary education to the children with special emphasis on their all-round development and also the socially and economically backward children must get access to the education of the remote area of the Nubra valley on 31 May 1998. AGS, Bogdang has been granted recognition by the Chief Education Officer J&K Education board, Leh as a Private School up to class VIII vide their letter No ESTT-29/4957-611 dt 12 Jun 2006. In a small span the school has been improved to enviable standards. QRF Bn, post 9 is responsible for the overall administration of the AGS, Bogdang and now responsibility is taken by Army unit. AGS, Bogdang was started with total 41 students in yr 1998 and now in 2018 total 304 students with 161boys and 143 girls are studying and school is running from Play Group to class 8th with hostel facility. AGS Bogdang have a team of 14 teachers and running on a ratio of 1:20.

It was realised that the children of locals in this sector were facing considerable hardships with regard to school facilities. Keeping this fact in mind, school for the children of locals was started at Bogdang as Army Goodwill School with effect from 31 may 1998. The Army Goodwill School, Bogdang is designd to be self sustaining based on the fees paid by the students funds allotted under SADBHAVANA. The school is the first educational institutionin Shyok Axis imparting quality education among the students from both rich as well as poor families. Army Goodwill School, Bogdang adopted the syllabus of JKBOSE (Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education ). The school attained consecutive positions at cluster level for last three years. The students of the institution are securing their admissions in various schools like APS Beas, Sainik School, JNV etc.
