Mr. Shabbir Ahmed, son of Mr. Ahmed Shah, completed his early education up to Class 5 at Army Goodwill School, Bogdang. During his school days, he actively participated in various activities, including sports, cultural programmes, dramas, and extracurricular events, which helped shape his confidence, leadership qualities, and team spirit.
The nurturing environment of Army Goodwill School, Bogdang, along with the guidance and encouragement of its teachers and the Indian Army, laid a strong foundation for his future. Their support and mentorship enabled him to pursue higher studies in Dehradun, where he successfully completed his schooling and later earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree.
Supported by his family, especially his parents, who constantly encouraged him to pursue excellence, Mr. Shabbir Ahmed remained focused on his goals and continued to work hard to achieve them.
Today, he proudly serves as an Officer in the Central Government of India, dedicating himself to the service of the nation with integrity, discipline, and commitment. Despite achieving professional success, he remains deeply connected to his roots and carries the values of humility and perseverance wherever he goes.

The story of Dr. Feroz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohd Shah, is one of determination, perseverance, and the transformative power of education.
Born and raised in the picturesque village of Bogdang, Feroz Ahmed spent his early years in an environment where opportunities were limited, but dreams were not. He completed his education up to Class 8 at Army Goodwill School, Bogdang, where he built the academic foundation that would later shape his future. He then continued his secondary education at Higher Secondary School, Bogdang.
After successfully completing Class 10, Feroz made a significant decision that would change the course of his life. Leaving his village behind, he moved to Jammu to pursue higher secondary education in the medical stream. Living away from home brought new challenges, but he remained focused on a single goal—to become a doctor.
His hard work and unwavering dedication paid off when he cleared the NEET-UG examination on his very first attempt, a milestone that opened the doors to one of the most respected professions. He secured admission to Government Medical College, Kathua, where he pursued the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The journey through medical school demanded years of relentless study, discipline, and resilience, but Feroz successfully completed his medical education and earned the title of Doctor.
Today, Dr. Feroz Ahmed resides in Jammu, carrying with him the values of humility, hard work, and service to humanity. His journey—from a small village in Bogdang to becoming a qualified doctor—serves as an inspiration to countless students, particularly those from rural backgrounds who aspire to achieve great things despite limited resources.

From the serene village of Bogdang to achieving professional success, Mr. Zakir Hussain’s journey is a tale of determination, hard work, and hope. An alumnus of Army Goodwill School, Bogdang, he is the son of Mr. Ebrahim Ali, a devoted medical attendant. His father's values and perseverance helped shape his path.
Mr. Zakir finished his early education at Army Goodwill School, Bogdang in 2008, carrying with him dreams much larger than boundaries of his village. With strong dedication, he earned his Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) Degree from Bangalore University in 2015, turning his aspirations into reality.
Today, as a Junior Engineer (JE) in the Public Works Department (PWD), Ladakh, he not only contributes for the development of his region but also carries the pride of his roots wherever he goes. His journey inspires the young minds of Bogdang, reminding them that no dream is too big and no destination is too far when they have courage, determination and belief. Mr. Zakir Hussain is not just a success story. He is a symbol of hope for every child who dares to dream.

My Journey: From a Remote Border Village to a Research Scholar
Education has the power to transform lives, families, and entire communities, and my journey stands as a testament to that belief.
I come from a small remote village, Bogdang, where higher education for girls was once considered uncommon. In my community, many believed that girls should not pursue education beyond school. Despite these deeply rooted social beliefs, my parents made the courageous decision to prioritize my education. Their unwavering faith in me became the foundation of everything I have achieved today.
I completed my schooling at Army Goodwill School (AGS), Bogdang, a school that provided me with a nurturing environment and opportunities to participate in diverse academic and extracurricular activities. These experiences strengthened my confidence, broadened my perspective, and built a strong academic foundation.
I then pursued my higher secondary education at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Bogdang. After completing school, I faced one of the biggest turning points of my life. In 2018, my parents allowed me to move to Jammu for higher education. At that time, only a handful of girls from my village were given permission to study outside their hometown. I consider myself truly fortunate and deeply grateful to my parents for trusting my dreams over societal expectations.
Moving to a new city was both exciting and challenging. Throughout this journey, I was never alone. My elder brother became my greatest source of strength. He stood beside me through every success and every setback, constantly motivating me, encouraging me to believe in myself, and acting as my biggest cheerleader. His support has played an invaluable role in shaping the person I am today.
In Jammu, I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from the University of Jammu. Driven by my passion for biological sciences, I pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Zoology, where my interest in research grew stronger. During this period, I also qualified the highly competitive CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) with both Lectureship (LS) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and I achieved this distinction twice. Alongside my research aspirations, I completed my Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), reflecting my commitment to both learning and teaching.
Today, I am living the dream that once seemed impossible. I am a Ph.D. Research Scholar at CSIR–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, working in the Pharmacology Division, Molecular Metabolism and Drug Discovery Laboratory. My research aims to contribute to scientific advancement and improve human health through innovative biomedical research.
Looking back, my journey is not just my own—it is the story of my parents' sacrifices, my brother's unwavering support, and the resilience to challenge social barriers. Coming from a village where girls rarely had the opportunity to pursue higher education, I hope my journey inspires other young girls to dream beyond limitations and believe that with determination, hard work, and the support of loved ones, no dream is too distant.
I firmly believe that education is not only a path to personal success but also a powerful tool for creating lasting change in society. My goal is to continue contributing to science while inspiring many more girls from remote communities to pursue higher education and realize their full potential

From the serene village of Bogdang in Nubra Valley, Ms. Zulikha Bano's journey is a story of determination, perseverance, and breaking barriers. She completed her early education up to Class 6 at Army Goodwill School, Bogdang, where she not only excelled in academics but also actively participated in almost every school programme, including solo dances, dramas, cultural events, and various extracurricular activities. These experiences helped shape her confidence, leadership, and passion for learning.
The teachers of Army Goodwill School, Bogdang, and the Indian Army played a significant role in shaping her personality. Their guidance, discipline, and encouragement made her more confident and broadened her knowledge, which helped her secure admission for higher studies in a school in Dehradun. The strong foundation laid by the school and the constant support of her teachers inspired her to dream bigger and pursue her goals with determination.
Ms. Zulikha Bano, daughter of Mr. Ahmed Shah, received immense support and encouragement from her family, especially her parents, whose sacrifices, guidance, and unwavering belief in her abilities inspired her to pursue higher education and build a meaningful career.
She proudly holds the distinction of being the first-generation advocate in her family and the first female advocate from the Balti community. Her achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a historic moment for her community, inspiring countless young girls to dream beyond traditional boundaries.
Driven by her passion for justice and service, she pursued her legal education and has been practicing as an Advocate at the Munsiff Court, Nubra, since 2021. Through her dedication, integrity, and commitment to the legal profession, she continues to serve the people of her region with compassion and professionalism.
Her journey is a testament to the power of education, hard work, and family support. Ms. Zulikha Bano is not just an advocate; she is a trailblazer, a role model, and a symbol of hope and empowerment for the youth of Nubra Valley and the entire Balti community. Her story reminds us that no dream is too big and no destination is too far when one has courage, determination, and faith in oneself.

An alumnus of Army Goodwill School, Bogdang, he is the son of Mr. Ali Shah, a humble and hardworking attendant at Govt Higher Secondary School, Partapur. His journey reflects the strength of simple beginnings and the power of unwavering determination. Having completed his early education at Army Goodwill School, Bogdang in 2011, Sadiq carried forward the values of discipline and perseverance instilled by his school. With a dream to achieve greater heights, he pursued his M.Tech from Kashmir University in 2019, proving that dedication can overcomes all barriers.
Today, as a Junior Engineer (JE) in the PWD Department of Ladakh, he is not just building infrastructure but also shaping aspirations. His success story resonates deeply among the children of Bogdang, showing them that even from the most remote corners of the Nation, one can rise to make a meaningful impact on the society and the generations to follow. My Journey: From an Average Student in a Remote Border Village to an IIT Kharagpur Graduate

Education has the power to transform lives, inspire communities, and create opportunities where none once existed. The journey of Mohd Sadiq from the remote border village of Bogdang, Ladakh, to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is a remarkable story of determination, perseverance, resilience, and continuous self-improvement.
Sadiq completed his education up to Class 8 at Army Goodwill School (AGS), Bogdang, before joining Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Bogdang in 2013. He was never a topper during his school years and generally scored around or below 70% throughout his academic journey. However, the Class 10 Board Examination in 2015 became the turning point of his life when he secured 81%, the highest score he had ever achieved. That achievement gave him the confidence to believe that consistent effort and hard work could take him far beyond his own expectations.
Later in 2015, he moved from the cold climate of Ladakh, where the temperatures often fall below 30°C, to the scorching summers of Jammu, where temperatures can reach 45°C, to pursue his higher secondary education. He enrolled at Govt. Sri Ranbir Model Higher Secondary School (SRML), Parade Jammu, in the Non-Medical stream. Adjusting to a new city, a different language, and an unfamiliar academic environment while living away from his family was one of the biggest challenges of his life. Despite these obstacles, he remained focused on his studies and successfully completed Class 12 with Distinction, scoring an outstanding 94 marks out of 100 in Physics. His performance in Physics not only boosted his confidence but also sparked a strong interest in engineering, motivating him to pursue a career in Civil Engineering.
After completing his higher secondary education, Sadiq moved to Aurangabad, Maharashtra, to pursue his B.Tech in Civil Engineering at MGM Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU), Lonere. Moving to another state presented a completely new set of challenges. The language, food, culture, and lifestyle were all unfamiliar. Determined to adapt, he gradually learned Marathi, which helped him communicate better, understand his surroundings, and overcome many of the initial difficulties. He embraced the new environment, built meaningful friendships, and remained focused on his academic goals. Through determination, perseverance, and consistent hard work, he successfully completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering with Distinction.
Although he did not qualify the GATE examination in his first two attempts, he refused to let failure define his future. Instead, he treated every setback as an opportunity to learn and improve. His perseverance paid off when he qualified GATE in 2024, securing the highest GATE score ever achieved by a student from Bogdang village. This accomplishment earned him admission to IIT Kharagpur, where he pursued an M.Tech in Transportation Engineering. Studying alongside some of India's brightest minds was both challenging and inspiring, but through dedication and perseverance, he successfully completed his M.Tech in Transportation Engineering with Distinction, becoming the first student from Bogdang and the first alumnus of Army Goodwill School Bogdang, to graduate from IIT Kharagpur.
Sadiq's journey reflects the unwavering support of his parents, teachers, friends, and well-wishers, along with his own determination, perseverance, and resilience. From being an average student in a remote border village to becoming the first student from Bogdang and the first alumnus of Army Goodwill School Bogdang, to graduate from IIT Kharagpur, his story proves that success is not determined by where you begin, but by the courage to keep moving forward. He hopes his journey inspires young minds, especially those from remote and border regions, to dream big, embrace challenges with confidence, and believe that no destination is too far when determination and hard work lead the way.

I still remember my first day in Army Goodwill School, Bogdang — tiny uniform, big dreams. From LKG to 8th, AGS gave me discipline, values, and the belief that no mountain is too high.After that, I studied 9th-10th at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Bogdang, then moved to Ranbir Higher Secondary School, Jammu for 11th-12th. The shift from Nubra’s quiet valleys to Jammu’s busy streets taught me how to adapt and keep going.I completed my B.Sc from GGM Science College, Jammu. With a degree in hand and AGS lessons in my heart, I came back home.For the last 2+ years I’ve been serving as a teacher at AGS Bogdang — the same classrooms where I once sat. Teaching my juniors has been my way of giving back to the school that built me.
And recently, I got selected as a Medical Assistant in the Health & Medical Services, UT of Ladakh. Two roles, one goal: to serve my people of Ladakh — in the classroom and in the community.
From an AGS student to an AGS teacher, and now a govt. health worker — my journey has come full circle, and it started right here in Bogdang.

Every journey has a starting point, and mine began in the beautiful village of Bogdang. As a young student at Army Goodwill School, Bogdang, I never imagined that one day I would return to the same school—not as a student, but as a teacher.
The classrooms where I once learned my first lessons are now the classrooms where I teach. The teachers who inspired me played an important role in shaping my values and encouraging me to work hard.
Education opened new doors for me, but my heart always belonged to my hometown. Returning to serve the community that raised me has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Every smile from my students reminds me of the importance of guiding the next generation.
Alongside teaching, I have continued my higher education because I believe learning never ends. Every new lesson I learn helps me become a better teacher and a better person.
Looking back, I don’t just see my achievements—I see the school, the teachers, and the experiences that shaped who I am today. My journey is proof that with dedication and perseverance, dreams can become reality.
